Pre-season Sale

Our Pre-season Sale proved to be a very enjoyable day. Good weather, good company, good South American wine and coffee, not to mention alpaca products and of course the alpacas themselves.

There was a wide range of alpacas for sale, both huacayas and suris. Some of the females were pregnant and some already had crias at foot. We also offered family groups, as well as pet alpacas.

The Alliance studs were on display and bookings were taken for this season matings.
There was also a lot of interest and significant bookings for our Alpaca Experience course.

Everyone seemed to have a good time whether they were there with a view to buy or simply interested in the alpacas and the informative talks, given by Alliance Members.

The author and journalist Brian Viner kindly drew the raffle and made an impromptu speech. He has subsequently written an amusing article, in the Independent, concerning his visit

Many thanks to our visitors and their generous donations which were presented to St. Michael’s Hospice, Hereford.

NorWEFT

Now that the shearing season is well underway, have you considered what to do with this year’s fleece?
Alliance members Michael and Celia Berry specialise in processing both alpaca fleece and fleece from other rare breeds.
They receive the raw fleece and then process it to your specifications, returning it to you for spinning or felting, as yarn ready to knit or weave, or even in the form of a garment.
